Protect Idaho Kids Child-Friendly Faith Project Post Register 9-21-17 op-ed

Idaho legislators want to keep laws on the books that allow people to deny necessary medical to children as long as they claim they tried to cure sick children with only prayer. The state is home to the Followers of Christ, a church that promotes “faith healing” over medical care. Janet Heimlich is the founder of the Child-Friendly Faith Project. Janet Heimlich is the founder of the Child-Friendly Faith Project, a national, nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity that raises awareness of religious child maltreatment. She is an award-winning journalist and the author of "Breaking Their Will: Shedding Light on Religious Child Maltreatment" (Prometheus Books), the first book to take an in-depth look at child abuse and neglect that is enabled by religious belief.
